Making of Georges Christmas

Being mid February, I think I can safely say that Christmas is long behind us.
And as promised here are the making of pictures from Georges 2016 Christmas special, sorry It's taken so long to get them up here, but with work and various other projects in the works it has taken a while to sort out.
I hope you enjoy:

George before having his eyebrows applied in his Christmas set

Georges mug of hot cocoa

Georges tree angel (He made it himself)

The Devon Herb novel had to be remade as the original was getting a bit tatty, but hopefully it looks the same as the original

A shot I usually forget to take of the actual animation software I use to animate Georges Reviews
I use Stop motion pro to animate, sort out audio in Audacity and lip sync using Magpie pro

Georges Guitar before it's paint job

Georges finished guitar

If you haven't already then check the last post to see the Christmas Special! More to come soon hopefully!!!

Welcome to my life - post 13

Hey everyone, as promised here are some making of photos:

A small beer crate of Georges favourite beer ( X - Brand )
A new prop created for the previous episode and there's no reason it won't be used for later episodes too!

After this episode was finished i wanted to give George a good touch up
his hands were a mess and so were his clothes, so i stripped him naked and chopped off his hands
replacing them with new fresh clean ones. They look a bit smoother but in the future i will aim to give him the smoothest hands possible.

By dipping them in latex i was able to get a smoother finish
whereas in the past i had painted the latex on with a paintbrush, this left the fingers looking cracked and lumpy

Georges cupboard also looked as if it needed redoing.
So i rebuilt the cupboard from scratch, it's currently painted black, soon i will paint it to hopefully look like wood!

Here I am painting the cupboard black
I'm wearing my most tattered t-shirt to paint in, as you might be able to see, It has a massive hole in it, but why throw away perfectly good painting clothes!
Also i'm adorning my wonderful safety goggles
I've also repainted the wall, added in a new door and put up a small shelf for George
now he has a place to show off his Devon Herb novel!
Next I'll be remaking the phone and remote, then I'll give the cupboard a good finish, repaint the floor and make a few extra props along with new clean replacement mouths. Then i can get back to animating.
All animated and ready to upload for your viewing pleasure by mid September!

Stay tuned folks and I'll post more upadates soon!

Welcome to my life - post 10

A new George's review is up for your viewing pleasure! Check it out below!

For this review, I had to create some new props.

In the original Welcome to my life, George was rarely seen without a beer, so I wanted to create one for him to drink from. Also being the Jurassic World episode, I needed a dinosaur and army man prop.

They were simple objects created using super sculpy.
I later painted them to look as they do in the review

Here is my set up for the episode, a very basic but effective set
I hope you're enjoying the reviews, more coming soon!

Welcome to my life - post 09

Hello folks, I thought i'd update the blog with Georges video reviews.
The first one came out March 2014 and the second May 2015
So it was over a year between reviews, very poor to say the least, especially considering the most recent review only took a week to animate.
But I have been very busy with the Gammon Pinkman movie, so have been unable to keep up with other projects see my blog: My stop motion blog
Or the Gammon Blog: Gammon Pinkman Blog

But now I'm back animating George again so the reviews should be more frequent from now on!

Here they are, Georges reviews, enjoy!

Welcome to my life - post 07

Hello everyone, here are some more updates for Welcome to my life.

This week i have some nice little animation tests to show off, they should tide you over until the first short comes out:

A short animation of George walking
(quite pointless for the shorts as he will be sitting throughout them but good to know that he can do walk cycles)

A test of Tom (Georges dog)
(The eagle eyed among you may be able to see my hand pop into shot for a frame. This will not happen when i'm animating the shorts)

Hello again and welcome to a very exciting post on the Welcome to my life blog.
This week i have puppet production photos to show you of George and Tom.

Georges body made of blue foam

Georges head made of a softer pink foam

Georges head was then covered in super sculpy, witch was then hardened and painted
the eyes are made of white sculpy with holes in the middle so that they can be moved
His pupils were carefully painted on with black paint

Here is George with his full body.
His arms are made of twisted wire and furnature foam
his legs and feet are made from blue foam and plastic

Here is a test of George sitting in his chair

Tom was a basic wire armature held together with glue

The head as with Georges was made using foam and sculpy

Tom was then covered in fur and given ears nose and eyes

Here he is almost complete
Thank you for checking out the making of, if you have any questions please feel free to send me a message, there will be more updates very soon and there should be some nice animation tests to show you all.

Welcome to my life - post 4

Hello and welcome to another exciting post from 'Welcome to my life.'
First of all i would like to bring your attention to the new comic tab, we now have a 'welcome to my life,' comic section!!!

The comic posts wont be very often as production on the animated 'welcome to my life,' takes up a lot of time right now.
But I will try my best to get them up when i can.

Now on with the post:

Beginings of Georges chair made of polystyrine and leather
the cocktail stick is to hold George onto the chair

This week i want to show you the making of the props
Currently there is a mini animated youtube series starting up with short little animations of George
They will hopefully be funny little insites into George's world

For these animations i am creating a simple set using George, Tom, his chair and the front room

Here are some more making of props to keep you going until the puppet making post next week

Georges little cupboard to keep his phone on and his belongings in

The big blue cupboard that wont be used in the shorts but will help for when
the pilot is created in the not too distant future
(Cupboard created by Simon Marsh)

A small T.V

and Georges phone
I hope this is enough to keep you going until the big exciting puppet making post next week!

Thanks for watching
